Born To Be Wild
November 23rd

Felids and Friends in conjunction with the Kowiachobee Animal Preserve introduced two panthers to visitors at "Born to be Wild" held in the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. This fun filled event was sponsored by Lee County Florida Parks and Recreation and Friends of Six Mile Slough Preserve.

The event focused on the adaptations animals and plants have made in order to survive in what may first appear to be a rather harsh environment. Experts on hand demonstrated just how animals and plants do flourish in Southwest Florida. In addition there were hands on activities for kids as well as adults and the opportunity to view wildlife. |

Felids and Friends and our friends from Kowiachobee Animal Preserve presented information on the Florida Panther. Our two little puma friends helped humans to empathize with the very hard life of a Florida Panther. |
